Resumo

Schizophrenia is a complex and dicult to diagnose chronicpsychiatric disorder, aecting the way people think, feelor behave, leading individuals to have symptoms such asmental disorder, predominantly in males, causing behavioralchanges such as aective indierence, confused thoughts anddiculties in relating to people. Symptoms may include delusions, poor thinking and concentration, hallucinations andlack of motivation. This paper presents a system based onfuzzy logic for a pre-diagnosis, aiming to assist psychiatristsin the diagnosis of the disease, contributing to the referral ofthe patient to the most appropriate treatment. The methodologywas based on bibliographic research and simulationswith ctitious patients, where symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized orcatatonic behavior and negative symptoms were used as inputvariables. All symptoms were classied into phases asmild, moderate and severe. In addition to 243 inference rulesfor pre-diagnosis. The results through simulations with patientX,patientY and patientZ were promising as the resultswere very close to those observed by health professionals. With this study it became evident the importance of usingfuzzy logic as an auxiliary instrument in the pre-diagnosisof psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia.
